my new and up and coming projects!

I call this "All For Hannah". Yep all this is going to make some clothes for my big girl.

This first one is a red/rusty corduroy. So I will be making a very trendy dress for her to wear with a nice pair of black tights. I think she will like this one.
$6.74/mt

This cute little check teddy bear fabric has been sitting in my stash for a bit and had no idea what to do with it. Then my friend had a great pattern so I am going to do the pleated skirt on the top. Very cute!

I also got some Indigo denim to make the pants on this pattern. It was $6/mt. A huge bargain.

These last 2 pieces of fabric the pink one is for a top and was $3/mt and the other I am still deciding between a top and a skirt it was $6/mt and it is a cotton drill. It would also make a great pair of pants. Hmmmmm.

So these were my spotlight buys this week. Very pleased cause they had 25% sale this week. I will defiantly be posting the results of these fabrics, as well as how Hannah has like each item.

 Thanks every one.

A Very Busy Week!

True to my word, I tided my sewing nook and started and finished nearly everything that I had started or left to mend.
Bethany's Pj's were actually very easy to sew as I had already sewn some for Hannah. The neck line was still a little tricky but over all I would do it again! She absolutely loves her sparkly star PJ's.

There were 4 toddlers Hats, which I had cut out years ago they are very cute just never got around to making them. I fixed up a pink shirred dress that was fraying every where. And the pink bag I also finished. All of these items (in the picture below) are for sale one small hat, (teddy bear small 48cm) $6, and the other 3 are medium 51cm $8. The bag is and the dress are $15. The dress should fit a big 3year old up to a small 5year old.

A Project a Week!

OK, I have been thinking that I will start a project a week so that I can continuously have a blog post at least once to twice a week. (unless there is something of importance that I must tell you).
I have been trying to work out what I was going to do this week to make as my project for the week. So I started to tidy up my sewing corner to try and get some sort of inspiration. And NOTHING! (it didn't help that I had my chatter box next to me). But as I was going through my stuff it occurred to me that I should finish my unfinished projects and mending and start a fresh next week with new stuff.

The "When I lose 5kg's Dress"!!!

Ok, I was able to breath life into the camera battery for a few shots before it died again. Have to get that new camera battery soon!!!!
Anyway I almost finished my dress and called it my when I lose 5kg dress, because I know when that happens this dress will look fab. All it will need is a pair of black boots and black opaque stockings!!!! And the all essential zipper! Out of the million zips I have, there is no black 18cm ones :( and I have not been able to go and get one at the moment!

Fabric: satin $1.99 Eastcoast fabrics
Pattern: new look6949
Notions: 18 cm zip (still to get)

The fabric was quite slippery to work with. I also made a few modifications. Because it was so slippery, I just put a few darts in the sleves instead of gathering them. I also ha not done the cuff and gather on thend of the sleeve again because of the slipperiness. It also had a row of stitching to do around the neckline which if it was cotton or linen I would most likely do it.

Hello! touching base, broken camera!!!

Sorry it has been a while since I have written. I have been working on a dress, the one in the last pattern I just bought and the black fabric. It is looking good. Also I can't take any photos yet as the camera is broken. Anyway yesterday I was looking at my emails and a friend sent me one to a wonderful blog, which landed me into another great blog. So I now have a goal to aspire to for a cute summer dress (just need a few kgs to go first). The site is www.sewweekly.com and it is a 1950's style dress. I am now on the search for the perfect fabric to put aside for it and a pattern too.
