Wow, two posts in one day. If you have scrolled down in my posts I have written about sewing the above purple top. I grew to not like it anymore and didn't want to wear it at all. It was way too long and the purple faded so quickly. So I just shoved it in my stack of to fix things with all my sewing stuff. I only go the idea recently while reading the most inspiring blog The ReFashionista, http://refashionista.net/ love that blog so much. Then it occoured to me, Dye! Yes! that's it and a bit of elastic through the waist and voila! So much nicer now.
Well it has been a long time since the last post. I have been most busy lately. Anyhoo, I have seriously started to consider refashioning. Needless to say I love it so much. I have always loved to sew but this is a great way especially since I don't have a lot of time to sew from scratch.

This is my very first refashion, it was a skirt that was given to me a while ago the skirt itself is a tad tight and may have worn it as is but I wanted something different and I just love the colour in it. So I chopped off a bit of length and (forgot to take another picture) but added some straps at the top, I also had enough material left to make a bolero and just added a broach to clasp it together.

Newly aquired Material

Funky Flannel!!  $6.99/mt It is so cute, I am making some Pj's for myself. This will only make some pants, still deciding if I should go back and get some more for the top too! Hmmmm

New Romance Voile. $3/mts yep you have seen that right! Cheap! I got 5mts to make the Maxi dress that I have been wanting to make for a long time. It will be nice and light for spring/summer can't wait!

Floral Dobby Poppy! $5/mt bought 2mts. I just loved this material. Don't know what I will make with it yet but it was too cute to pass up.

Now for the finished products!

This was the first project I started just before the school holidays. I made one for Hannah and her cousin Sarah. Very cute! It was also the first time that I had done box pleats.

Hannah's cord dress also had some box pleats in it but as I had already made the above skirt twice already it didn't seem as hard. The bodice though had 7 panels to it, but overall a great dress. It will look great with tights and boots!

These two tops below I finished yesterday! It was a very simple pattern, the only thing is the sleeves were a bit time consuming. Overall I like how they turned out and now have some more tops to wear (with sleeves).

my new and up and coming projects!

I call this "All For Hannah". Yep all this is going to make some clothes for my big girl.

This first one is a red/rusty corduroy. So I will be making a very trendy dress for her to wear with a nice pair of black tights. I think she will like this one.
$6.74/mt

This cute little check teddy bear fabric has been sitting in my stash for a bit and had no idea what to do with it. Then my friend had a great pattern so I am going to do the pleated skirt on the top. Very cute!

I also got some Indigo denim to make the pants on this pattern. It was $6/mt. A huge bargain.

These last 2 pieces of fabric the pink one is for a top and was $3/mt and the other I am still deciding between a top and a skirt it was $6/mt and it is a cotton drill. It would also make a great pair of pants. Hmmmmm.

So these were my spotlight buys this week. Very pleased cause they had 25% sale this week. I will defiantly be posting the results of these fabrics, as well as how Hannah has like each item.

 Thanks every one.

A Very Busy Week!

True to my word, I tided my sewing nook and started and finished nearly everything that I had started or left to mend.
Bethany's Pj's were actually very easy to sew as I had already sewn some for Hannah. The neck line was still a little tricky but over all I would do it again! She absolutely loves her sparkly star PJ's.

There were 4 toddlers Hats, which I had cut out years ago they are very cute just never got around to making them. I fixed up a pink shirred dress that was fraying every where. And the pink bag I also finished. All of these items (in the picture below) are for sale one small hat, (teddy bear small 48cm) $6, and the other 3 are medium 51cm $8. The bag is and the dress are $15. The dress should fit a big 3year old up to a small 5year old.
